Well what a day that turned out to be! On Sunday June 5 more than 80 people poured into Pett Village Hall to enjoy lunch with their friends and neighbours. Organised for the fifth consecutive year by Pett WI, and supported by a grant from Rother District Council, the event was an occasion to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday and it certainly was one to remember.
Everyone bought their own main course and Pett WI provided salads, bread and condiments. There followed the now legendary Feast of Puddings, this year truly scrumptious and many enjoyed second, even third helpings! A glass of bubbles was also provided and entertainment came from The Pete Prescott Band. The weather was delightful, enabling many to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine and around £300 was raised for local causes.
